Botolph Bridge Community Health Centre (Peterborough)
This small, friendly practice prides itself on its family atmosphere and the team are described as always going the extra mile – an excellent choice for someone who wants to get involved and really make a difference to their community.
Located on the edge of the city but near to beautiful countryside, the practice serves a patient list of almost 7,000, made up mainly of young families, and offers a full range of specialist clinics and services.
The team takes a modern and evolving approach to practice and its visionary lead clinician is looking for GPs who will embrace the existing ethos of looking at life in three dimensions – mind, body and community.
The staff at Botolph Bridge are proud to ‘think outside the box’ and use technology and innovation to help them best serve their patients.
They have developed a hybrid appointment system and are training non-clinical staff as HCAs so that they can work with the doctors. The team also work closely with local housing groups and have regular coffee mornings with charities and third sector partners to develop strategies and approaches that benefit all.
Staff training is kept up to date – annual GP update courses are paid for – and monthly meetings are organised with consultants from the nearby hospitals, while study leave and protected learning time are included.
New recruits would have the opportunity to discuss hours and flexibility is offered wherever available to suit family/personal commitments. Full indemnity costs are covered and the right candidate would be able to take a lead role within the team, with options of securing shares, part-ownership and even directorships becoming a key player in the future of Botolph Bridge.
